Humans all want to be part of a community, contribute, and feel valued. A job can help people feel like they are contributing to society and making a difference in the world, feel good about themselves, and shape their identity. A job can help people contribute money and resources to their communities, which can improve the quality of housing, increase fundraising, and more.
Finding the career that fills these requirements is often a life-long challenge for anyone. Finding the right job, or in some cases any job, can introduce seemingly insurmountable hurdles for those living with epilepsy.
Epilepsy Works! will create employment opportunities and a guided path toward meaningful and sustained employment for those in Colorado & Wyoming who are living with epilepsy. The program will educate and raise awareness to help fight the stigma and common misconceptions of epilepsy. We are working with future employees on Job Matching, Resume Building, Interview Prep, Accommodations Requests and ensuring that they feel safe and supported in their work environment. We’re empowering future employers with seizure first aid training, engaging with an untapped and important workforce, exploring neurodiversity initiatives and increasing employee retention and satisfaction.
