When unexpected financial challenges arise, the Foundation’s  Emergency Assistance Fund is there to support individuals and families affected by epilepsy.

FND/NES

In Colorado, we are lucky to have 1 of 4 NES clinics in the Nation. You can learn more about the NES clinic and how to be seen here:

We know that it can be difficult to find a mental health professional to start treatment and get started with treatment.

On top of training mental health professionals through our Preferred Provider Network, we also provide “Reset and Rewire:  The FND Workbook for Kids & Teens” free of charge for those diagnosed with NES. This is to help provide individuals with some tools to add to their toolkit.  This workbook is not meant to take the place of seeing a mental health professional, but can rather help you get started. You can email Larissa at larissa@epilepsycoloradowyoming.org to have a copy mailed to you, or you can buy a copy here:

Find a Therapist

Living with seizures comes with a unique set of challenges. The unpredictability of seizures, associated stigma, restrictions, loss, isolation, sleep disruption, and medication side effects can significantly impact mental health. Recognizing this complexity, we have developed a network of professionals who have received training to support individuals with epilepsy and non-epileptic seizures and improve their mental well-being. We also recognize that family members of those with seizures also have a unique situation as well and may need support. Therapy isn’t just for those in need of help with their mental health, it can also be beneficial to help learn how to manage stress, changes in family dynamics with a new diagnosis, or just processing what is going on.

We understand that caring for your mental health is an important part of living with epilepsy and often has barriers. You don’t have to do it alone; we’re here to help!

PPN
Professional Recruitment

Are you a mental health professional? Have you worked with those who live, or have a connection to seizures? We are here to help. With our Preferred Provider Network, we train therapists in both Epilepsy and Non-epileptic Seizures and some of the common struggles that may be experienced. We are then able to provide reimbursement to our clients. If you are interested in learning more, please contact our Support Services and Engagement Manager Larissa at larissa@epilepsycoloradowyoming.org or 303-502-5979.
