Living with epilepsy can affect both physical and emotional wellbeing.
Depression and anxiety are highly prevalent, often underrecognized comorbidities in people with epilepsy (PWE), affecting roughly 1 in 3 patients. The Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado & Wyoming offers mental health resources designed to help you feel understood, supported, connected and empowered. You are not alone!

Functional seizures (FS) or nonepileptic seizures (NES/PNES)
Functional seizures (FS), or nonepileptic seizures (NES)/PNES, are physical episodes resembling epilepsy but are not caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain. They are involuntary, often linked to stress or emotional trauma, and are diagnosed using video-EEG monitoring to confirm no epileptic activity occurs during the event.
In Colorado, we are lucky to have 1 of 4 NES clinics in the Nation. You can learn more about the NES clinic and how to be seen here: University of Colorado Anschutz >
“Reset and Rewire: The FND Workbook for Kids & Teens” is free of charge for those diagnosed with FS/NES. This is to help provide individuals with some tools to add to their toolkit. This workbook is not meant to take the place of seeing a mental health professional, but can rather help you get started.
