Wyoming Youth & Family Outreach

The Position:

The Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado & Wyoming is seeking a part-time Youth & Family Training and Outreach Coordinator based in Wyoming.  The Foundation expanded its reach into Wyoming in Summer 2021 and this position will be the key team member tasked with educating/training school nurses, personnel and classrooms on epilepsy and seizures as well as engaging with youth and families affected by epilepsy.

Reporting to and working closely with the Vice President of Community Initiatives, the Youth & Family Training and Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for connecting with Wyoming schools and school organizations with the goal of building key partnerships with schools and school organizations as well as providing training and education to schools. The objective is to raise awareness about epilepsy and seizures in schools and begin the work of increasing the safety and inclusion of youth living with epilepsy in the Wyoming school system. This position will also promote awareness and education through participating in health fairs and outreach opportunities in Wyoming and will filter youth and families to the Foundation for beneficial resources and support.

VP of Development

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado & Wyoming is seeking an experienced, passionate, well connected fundraising leader to join our team as the Vice President of Development. Reporting to the CEO, the VP of Development will create and implement a comprehensive and strategic donor engagement program and be a leader with the skill, vision and drive to take this successful organization to the next level through corporate sponsorship, major giving, program funding and fundraising events. This position will be responsible for solidifying and expanding relationships with our community, engaging volunteers, donors, partners, and participants from Colorado and Wyoming. The VP of Development will join the Epilepsy Foundation as a core member of the leadership team, helping to craft budgets and strategic plans, and ensuring that we creatively and effectively integrate fundraising objectives into all our mission-driven work. The VP leads the organization’s development team and is responsible for achieving the organization’s annual revenue goal of approximately $1.3 million.

Internships

Development Intern

Position Summary:   

This unpaid internship opportunity is focused on the events and programs of the Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado and in Wyoming. Reporting to and working closely with the VP of Development, the Intern is responsible for engaging the community in our events and programs to support the mission and goals of the Foundation. 

The intern will assist with increasing awareness, participant retention and acquisition, soliciting in-kind donations of food and supplies, supporting team cultivation and fundraising events, and execution of a variety of events including: the Walk to END EPILEPSY, the Annual Gala, National Epilepsy Awareness Week, patient education programs, administrative support and general awareness. The intern may be called upon to assist with the execution of events and will have the opportunity to gain on-site event experience. The intern should be competent in Microsoft applications and have strong communication skills. 

This position will work with colleagues in administrative, fundraising and education roles. As a member of the Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado & Wyoming, you will play a pivotal role in the success and growth of the Epilepsy Foundation, ensuring that the organization is positioned to serve the nearly 65,000 people in our area who are living with epilepsy.

Epilepsy Works Internship

Position Summary

The epilepsyWORKS Program Intern will play a key role in supporting the epilepsyWORKS employment initiative. Working closely with the Director of epilepsyWORKS, the intern will assist in providing employment services to people with epilepsy, engage and collaborate with employers, and explore various marketing and funding opportunities available for non-profits. This internship offers a unique chance to apply micro-social work skills while emphasizing the human connection aspect of employment. The intern will gain valuable, person-centered experience by helping individuals with epilepsy develop essential skills to secure and maintain meaningful employment. Additionally, the intern will represent the Foundation, build relationships with employers, and help identify partnership opportunities throughout the states of Colorado & Wyoming. Through their work, the interns will contribute to delivering exceptional employment services, enhancing the Foundation’s visibility, and strengthening its impact in the community.

Community Outreach Intern

Job Summary
The Community Outreach Internship focuses on training and education about epilepsy/seizures and increasing the outreach efforts of the Foundation. This individual will represent the Foundation and work with the team to implement initiatives that increase the Foundation’s visibility within the surrounding community. This individual will be tasked with working with key volunteer presenters to moderate and organize virtual training and educational programs. This internship requires a self-motivated, compassionate, enthusiastic, community-driven, organized, and resourceful individual who thrives on building and implementing services that help people “live well” with epilepsy. The Community Outreach Intern reports to the VP of Community Initiatives. The intern should be competent in Microsoft and virtual platforms such as Zoom and have strong communication skills.
