WALK for epilepsy COLORADO is all about coming together, having fun, and helping ensure no one faces epilepsy alone.. In 2025 our walkers helped raise over $200,000 to support critical programs and services in our community!

Funds raised from the Walk provide education and awareness, training programs on seizure recognition and first aid, as well as improved access to specialty and supportive care for the nearly 65,000 people affected by epilepsy in Colorado and Wyoming.

Be a Team Captain

Team Captains are the heart of WALK for epilepsy COLORADO! We recommend gathering teams of at least 5, however there is no minimum number of people. Tell your friends, family, and co-workers why you are walking and ask them to join you — you’ll have a team in no time!

Once you register as a Team Captain, you’ll rally your team members to help them fundraise, keep them motivated, and have fun fighting for a great cause in the process. You will also have access to a Team Fundraising Page and numerous fundraising and recruitment tools to make your team a success.

Join an Existing Team

We are stronger together! Register to join an existing team and work with others to increase awareness about epilepsy and raise funds. If you’ve already registered and want to join a team – no problem! Just contact us and we’ll take care of you.

Once you‘ve joined your team, invite others to register for the WALK for epilepsy COLORADO or support your efforts making a donation.

Participate as an Individual

You can make an impact by participating on your own at the WALK for epilepsy COLORADO. Set a fundraising goal and get started!

Your Participant Center and online fundraising tools provide you with a quick and easy way to ask your family, friends, and contacts to support your efforts.

If you change your mind later and want to start a team – no problem, we are happy to help!

Why fundraise?

People with epilepsy need our support now more than ever. While you are not required to fundraise in order to participate and help raise awareness, the WALK for epilepsy COLORADO makes fundraising easy and fun!

After you register, you will create your own personal fundraising page where you can send emails and track your progress.  It will also link to a Facebook Fundraiser so you can easily share with your network.  Personalized phone calls, emails, letters and text messages go a long way to get friends and family members to support you! 

Fundraising Incentives & T-Shirts

When you raise $100 you will receive an official Walk T-shirt in addition to other fundraising prizes.

Each person who registers for the Walk and indicates he or she lives with epilepsy will receive a free T-shirt!

Year Round Fundraising Ideas
No matter the time of year, we have fundraising ideas for you!

It is FREE to participate in the WALK for epilepsy COLORADO. However, we have so many great fundraising tools – including email templates, with Facebook capability, and more – that make it easy for you to help us raise awareness and funds to support people living with epilepsy in our region.

Please register ahead of time so we have a sense of how many people to expect! We will also have day-of registration available at each walk site.

There is no minimum age to participate, although all children under 18 must be registered in advance by an adult legally able to sign a waiver on their behalf.

The in-person routes are 5K around some of Colorado and Wyoming’s prettiest urban parks.

If you attend our in-person events, you can pick up your fundraising or Living with Epilepsy T-shirt at the registration tent. If you register as a virtual participant, your shirt(s) will be mailed to you before the event.

Yes, well-behaved, leashed dogs are always welcome!

Yes! For those diagnosed with epilepsy, the WALK for epilepsy COLORADO is an opportunity to learn about the Epilepsy Foundation’s services and to connect with others living with epilepsy. During registration, indicate that you live with epilepsy and you’ll receive a FREE T-shirt, either at the event if you attend in person or mailed to you before the event date.

During registration, you will have the option of registering as an individual or you can join a team or form a new one. To join an existing team, either go to the team page link sent to you by your team captain or search for your team name during registration.

As many or as few as you like.

Returning Team Captains should register first, starting a team with the team name from last year. Then use our email templates or share our Facebook events to encourage team members to register for your team.

There are so many easy ways to start fundraising for the WALK for epilepsy COLORADO! During registration, you will set up a personal fundraising page. You can forward that link to family and friends via email or social media to encourage them to donate.

You can set up a Facebook Fundraiser, which is quick and painless – and you just might be surprised how many people will support you! We also have plenty of other fundraising ideas and tips and tools in our Resources section.

You can share a link to your participant page with friends and family via email or social media. Your Facebook Fundraiser will also display how close you are to reaching your fundraising goal, and you can share the fundraiser repeatedly to encourage additional donations.

Many employers offer programs to match charitable contributions made by their employees. These “matching gifts” are an opportunity to double or possibly triple your donation to Walk to END EPILEPSY.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado & Wyoming provides educational programs and services to support the 65,000 people living with epilepsy in Colorado and Wyoming and their families.

Yes! Your donation is 100% tax deductible since you are not receiving anything in exchange for your donation. You’ll be emailed a copy of your receipt for your records.

To make a Walk donation via Venmo, include the fundraiser’s name and event location (Denver, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins) in the comments so we know who your gift is for! You can also use your personal Venmo, PayPal or Zelle account to collect donations from friends and family and then submit them as a lump credit/debit card payment via your fundraiser page.
