Join us on Tuesday, November 1 to kick off National Epilepsy Awareness Month for a reception and talk with sisters Debe Arlook and Lori Sandler about their photography exhibit “one, one thousand…” 

The reception is 5-7 pm, with the artist talk at 6 pm at the CU Anschutz Center for Bioethics and Humanities – Fulginiti Pavilion.

“one, one thousand…” is a love story and an unconventional documentary exposing the impact a rare and incurable form of epilepsy (Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome) has on the artist’s sister and nephew’s experiences of life-long care. Debe Arlook’s intimate photographs, accompanied by her sister’s writings, reveal the inner and outer worlds of a caregiver and the one being cared for.
